Satisfaction

I began feeling nostalgic after I received a short note from a previous student last week.

I enjoyed every minute of teaching copywriting and layout to the students in our home school group, and I am grateful I had the opportunity. I was able to spend time developing skills that they may not have had otherwise. Or at least, at a young age. Some understood immediately, while others never quite got it.

I have stayed in touch with several students. One is now an interface designer and hosts my web site. I laugh at the friendly rivalry we had between Mac and PC. I think I've converted him, at least partially. Another student is pursuing journalism, while another is continuing his education as a web designer.

Even those students who are pursuing other opportunities have expressed their appreciation. It may be just the ability to space pictures in a report or create catchy headlines, but I hope everyone was able to gain something. That is satisfaction, knowing I did the job well.
