Finding a Common Voice, part 2
We discovered that out of the five products, only one has been analyzed during the current tenure of the writer. This review is overdue.
Each of the five products have slightly different audiences, depending on how the product is used. Of course, this steers the content of the release notes. We realized that we didn't know what our audience really needed. Do they need the multiple defect IDs, or just specific ones? Do they need filtering capability, or is PDF format okay?
One product has a fairly complicated and detailed format, with multiple columns and filtering. While another has only one ID and description. We were able to analyze and suggest a format that had multiple IDs and enough detail while combining columns. Using this suggestion, we will interview several stakeholders to verify that our format is the deliverable required.
It will be interesting to see how close our suggestion is to the final deliverable.
