I received an urgent call from Sales to create a customized User Guide for a client who Sales want to upgrade from an outdated version of our app. They wanted a doc that outlined the feature enhancements from the outdated version to the current version.
Since our topics are single sourced, I was able to create a table of contents specifically for this client. I added a couple of topics as introductory material and built the PDF.
Sales was impressed, and the value of tech pubs was boosted.
Now, when we talk to Sales about single sourcing across the business units in a Content Management System, we are able to provide them with their own example.
